Central Bank of Iran’s Governor Valiollah Seif met with his Syrian counterpart on Sunday to review banking ties and discuss further cooperation to finance economic projects. “Collaborations and meetings between the two countries’ central banks due to their common economic goals have had positive outcomes for both sides,” the CBI governor was quoted as saying by CBI’s website. Seif noted that Iran and Syria could expand their banking ties by using national currencies in mutual trade. Governor of the Central Bank of Syria Duraid Durgham said bilateral economic and banking relations need to expand in proportion to the two countries’ level of cooperation. Durgham referred joint economic projects between Iran and Syria and emphasized that by signing agreements and implementing joint projects, bilateral economic relations will expand more than before.
