‘Gandhi & Stalin’ Released in Persian

A 1947 book by American journalist and author Louis Fischer ‘Gandhi and Stalin: Two Signs at the World’s Crossroads,’ is now available in Persian.

The Persian translation of the work by translator Gholam Ali Keshani, 60, has been recently published by Ghatreh Publication based in Tehran, IBNA reported.

“The crisis of our era,” said Fischer (1896-1970), “is essentially moral.”

If a terrifying Third World War is to be prevented and Fischer was convinced it can be prevented, the urgent need is for an alliance between politics and principles, says the blurb of the book.

Fischer has cast Joseph Stalin as the embodiment of totalitarian evil and Mahatma Gandhi as the incarnation of democracy. From this datum point, he branches out into sundry matters, such as the need for a world government.  

In this book, the famous author of ‘Men and Politics’, ‘The Great Challenge’ and other widely-read volumes, leads readers through the confusion of the world mess to a new definition of moral values and a new understanding of how true democracy can achieve lasting peace.
