Some Cars Made in Iran Leak Water

Seven Iran-made cars have failed to pass the water-leak test conducted by Iran’s Standards and Quality Inspection Organization (ISQI).

A report released by the ISQI says five of the cars are made at SAIPA, the second largest auto maker, ISNA reported.

The most notorious of all is a range of Prides, namely the SAIPA 111, SAIPA 132, SAIPA 131.

The Tiba sedan and its hatchback version also failed to pass the water leak test, according to the report.

Both the Samand made by Iran Khodro Company in Tabriz and the MVM 550 made at Modiran Vehicle Manufacturing Company also failed to pass the water leak test.

Every month the ISQI releases a report on the quality of locally manufactured cars by factoring in several criteria. Based on the results, the cars are given a ranking between one to five stars.

The fact that the abovementioned models have not been able to pass the water leak test means that their interiors could get soaked with a single carwash or when it rains.
