Iran accounts for 20% of Iraq’s $600 million import market for dairy products, according to managing director of Food, Agriculture and Pharmaceuticals Holding of the Civil Servants Pension Organization, Ali Roumi. Noting that some 20 Iranian companies export dairy products to the neighboring country, the official added that over $60 million worth of dairy products were exported to Iraq in the past 10 months. “Iran has now overtaken its traditional rivals, namely Turkey and Saudi Arabia, to become the main supplier of dairy products to Iraq,” IRNA quoted Roumi as saying.
