More than 23.8 trillion rials ($624 million) worth of local and foreign investments have been made in Anzali Free Trade and Industrial Zone in northern Iran during the 10 months to January 19, the managing director of the free zone said. “Investments were made in production as well as port and wharf infrastructure projects,” Reza Masrour was also quoted as saying by IRNA. Anzali is the largest harbor on the southern coasts of the Caspian Sea, with a capacity of handling the transit of 7 million tons of goods via its 10 docks. It is also the third largest seaport in Iran after Imam Khomeini and Shahid Rajaei ports situated on the Persian Gulf coastline.
