Assurances Over Border Security

Police chief Lieutenant General Hossein Ashtari stressed Iran’s high capabilities to defend itself using advanced indigenous weapons and missiles, and assured the nation that the Iranian borders are safe.

“Our defense system enjoys more power than many advanced countries and our defense and deterrence power is also high,” Ashtari said, addressing a ceremony in the eastern province of South Khorasan on Sunday, Fars News Agency reported.

Stressing Iran’s high missile power, he said the country’s defense, marine and ground military systems are the best in the region. Ashtari underscored that the Iranian borders are among the most secure areas of the country. In relevant remarks late December, Deputy Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Lieutenant General Hossein Salami underlined Iran’s military superiority in the region and said no power can threaten the country.
