Iran exported $1.078 billion worth of goods to Afghanistan in the first five months of the Iranian year – which started March 21 – said Iran’s commercial attaché to Afghanistan. Cement, steel, and iron are among the major goods exported to the eastern neighbor. Mohammad Mehdi Qassab disagreed with those who describe Iraq and Afghanistan as bad target markets and said Iranian steel is currently not popular in Russia and Uzbekistan, while in Iraq and Afghanistan it highly sought-after.
