Domestic Garment Sector Struggling to Keep Shirt On

Over 70% of Iranian shirt-makers are on the verge of bankruptcy with some operating at 20% of their capacity, the head of Tehran Shirt-Makers Association said. Javad Doroudian blamed the absence of banking facilities, heavy taxes imposed by the government on production units and market oversupply for the troubles facing the garment sector, Eranico reported.
