Iran exported 69,371 tons of dates worth $79.63 million to 69 countries during the first half of the current Iranian year (started March 20). The figure shows a decline of 5.81% and 25.63% in terms of weight and value respectively compared with the same period of last year, ISNA reported. India was the top export destination of Iranian dates during the period. The South Asian country bought over 7,000 tons of the fruit worth $10 million. Pakistan, Turkey, Afghanistan, Iraq, the UAE and Russia were other major customers of Iranian dates.
