The 15th edition of ‘Iran International Confectionary Fair’ will be held in Tehran September 13-16. Representatives of more than 370 domestic companies and 76 international firms from 20 countries have signed up to take part. “Iran exported more than $500 million worth of biscuits, pastry and chocolate to 66 countries during the past fiscal that ended in March,” says secretary of Biscuit, Pastry and Chocolate Association of Iran Jamshid Maghazei. Per capita consumption of chocolate in Iran is by far less than that of European countries; each Iranian eats two kilograms of chocolate a year whereas the figure is close to 10kg for Europeans, IANA reported.
