President of French National Assembly Claude Bartolone will pay an official visit to Tehran to hold talks with senior Iranian officials. Bartolone will lead a parliamentary delegation to Tehran on September 5 at the invitation of Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani, Press TV reported. During his four-day visit, the top French parliamentarian will meet Iranian authorities, including Larijani, President Hassan Rouhani and Chairman of Expediency Council Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani. Senior officials from Iran and many countries have so far exchanged visits after the Islamic Republic and the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council—the United States, France, Britain, China and Russia—plus Germany on January 16 started implementing the nuclear agreement they clinched in July last year. Under the deal, nuclear-related sanctions imposed on Iran by the European Union, the UN Security Council and the US were lifted. Iran has, in return, placed temporary curbs on its nuclear activities.
