Two major Iranian auto manufacturers, namely Kerman Motor and Iran Khodro Company (IKCO), are testing several new models, three of which will be unveiled soon.
Kerman Motor, which in the recent years has produced several Chinese vehicles, recently produced two new models of JAC Motors, namely the S2 compact SUV and T6 pickup truck, local auto website Asre Khodro reported.
T6 pickup truck is powered by a 2.0 gasoline engine with 147 hp, which is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. Its maximum torque and speed are 250 Nm and 150 km/h respectively.
Some of the features of the model include T6’s leather seats with red stitching, a sporty instrument panel and a large touchscreen in the center console that provides satellite navigation, radio and television.
S2 is a compact SUV powered by a 1.5 liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with 113 hp and 146 Nm. The models come with a six-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission.
According to Kerman Motors, the prices and release dates of the models will be announced soon.
IKCO, Iran’s largest and oldest auto manufacturer, has produced a facelifted model of Pars Khodro’s L90, reported Iranjib, a local market monitoring website.
Based on the Logan platform, the L90—also known as Tondar 90—is a super mini car with a 72 bhp 1.2-liter engine.
The face-lifted model’s technical features are similar to Pars Khodro’s production. But the facelifted vehicle’s interior design is modeled after the original French Sandero which, according to online polls, might be better welcomed by the Iranian auto market.
Pars Khodro has been producing the model since 2006.
