Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission on Tuesday discussed the general outline of its report on the implementation of the July 2015 nuclear deal between Tehran and world powers over the past six months, the commission’s spokesman said.

Hossein Naqavi Hosseini added that the commission’s nuclear committee held a meeting on Tuesday to develop a “framework” for the six-month report, Tasnim News Agency reported.

He said the report will include five sections featuring different aspects of the deal, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, including commitments of the Islamic Republic and commitments of the six major powers (Russia, China, the US, Britain and France, plus Germany).

Tehran and major powers on July 14, 2015, concluded the JCPOA, which took effect on January 16, terminating all nuclear-related sanctions against Iran in return for time-bound limitations on its nuclear program. According to a law that requires the Iranian administration to safeguard the nation’s achievements and nuclear rights, the Majlis commission has been tasked with monitoring “the proper implementation” of JCPOA, and is required to submit a report on the issue to the Majlis Presiding Board every six months.

Six months after the JCPOA came into force, Iranian officials still complain about the other side’s failure to fully implement the accord.
