The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Telecommunications Company of Iran will host a conference named “Iran Connect” on September 6 and 7 to unite the entire international telecoms ecosystem looking to do business in Iran.
According to Capacityconferences.com, associate partners of the event include Orange, Sparkle and U.com, as well as the Iran-Britain Chamber of Commerce, based in London.
Keynote addresses will be delivered on September 6 by Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi, Deputy Minister, Chairman of the Board and Managing Director of Telecommunications Infrastructure Company of Iran Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi and Nicholas Hopton, chargé d’affaires to Iran for the United Kingdom.
Providing a high-profile conference of C-level speakers addressing revenue growth opportunities in a highly lucrative market, the event will also facilitate meetings between international operators, vendors and service providers and Iran’s entire telecoms industry.
Iran’s telecoms industry has been of particular interest for foreign investors because of its rapid growth prospects created by deregulation, licensing of new mobile virtual network operators, rollout of 3G and 4G services and a flourishing startup sector.
The Telecommunication Company of Iran recently signed a €1 billion finance agreement with an unnamed overseas vendor for the expansion and upgrade of its networks as well as cooperation agreements with Italian telecoms equipment manufacturer Itatel and foreign telecoms carriers KT Corp of South Korea and Kazakhtelecom of Kazakhstan.
