A meeting of the Joint Commission of Iran and the six world powers on the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (the official name of the July 2015 nuclear deal) will be held in Vienna, Austria, on July 19.

Russian permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna, Vladimir Voronkov, made the announcement in an interview with Russian news agency TASS on Thursday.

According to Voronkov, the meeting will focus on problems with Iran's surplus enriched uranium and the country's compliance with limits on its heavy water stocks.

"There are two issues that need to be addressed," he said. "These are the difficulties with enriched uranium accumulated during enrichment in pipes and other devices. What has been discovered exceeds the allowed limit of 300 kilograms. And the second issue is heavy water."

Voronkov added that Russia "is dealing with the matter whether to buy" heavy water from Iran to make sure that Tehran remains within the limits set by the nuclear deal.

He explained that "there is a fundamental desire to negotiate the issue; so far this is a question of a one-time purchase."

"I think the Chinese and American sides will brief the participants on the progress in the planned conversion of the Arak nuclear facility into a light-water reactor," he said. "For our part, we will tell them how the Fordo project is proceeding."

As part of JCPOA, the Fordo nuclear facility should be converted into "a nuclear, physics and technology center".
