A senior advisor to the managing director of the Kish Free Zone Organization said developing tourism capacities and diversifying modern facilities in Kish, are the main objectives of the island’s strategic tourism development plan, ILNA reported.
Rasoul Keshtpour said the cost of travel is among the issues addressed in this draft, prioritizing local tourists in the first place and foreign guests in next.
He said recognition of the islands’ prevalent advantages and opportunities is the byproduct of drafting the plan, adding that it would lead to improved welfare along with economic growth if planned accordingly.
This roadmap, as the most important strategic plan for developing tourism industry would be the guideline for every tourism operation in the area.
Kish was declared a free zone in 1989. With numerous malls, tourist attractions, and resort hotels, the island is known as a recreational paradise. Whoever visits the island, will sure wish to revisit the place. In 2010, the New York Times ranked Kish among the world’s 10 most beautiful islands, and the fourth most visited vacation destination in Southwest Asia.
