Iran produced more than 60 million tons of cement last year (March 2015-16), of which 15.9 million tons were exported to Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait and Qatar. Domestic production in 2015 accounted for about 2% of global production, relegating the country from the world’s fourth largest cement producer a year before to the seventh place, IRNA reported on Monday. Iran aims to increase production and exports to 120 million and 32 million tons respectively by the end of 2020.
