Japan's iconic ISUZU brand has launched its latest vehicle in the Iranian market costing 1.18 billion rials ($33,700).
The latest version of the vehicle launched at a hotel in West Tehran is being built by Bahman Group that also produces Mazda among some other vehicles.
The Isuzu D-Max is available in single, extended and double cab body styles, with five specifications to choose from in some markets.
The vehicle is known in the South American market as Chevrolet D-Max, as it is built in GM factories.
Powered by a 2.5-liter twin-turbo diesel, D-Max is a good choice for towing; the 4x4 models can tow up to 3,500 kg and can carry a 1,058-1,136 kg payload. It's available with either a six-speed manual or a five-speed automatic gearbox.
All models use the same 2.5-liter twin-turbo diesel engine, which develops 163 bhp and 400 Nm of torque is ideal for the Iranian countryside.
The load bay in the single cab model measures at 2,305 mm by 1,570 mm, with a payload capacity of 1,128 kg or 1,136 depending on the drivetrain. The double cab gets a load bay of 1,552 mm by 1,530 mm, but the payload capacity varies based on the model you choose—with the maximum being 1,096 kg. The towing weight for 4x4 models is 3,500 kg, dropping to 2,500 kg otherwise.
