Germany's foreign ministry spokesperson said Berlin is looking for expansion of trade and economic ties with Tehran as soon as international sanctions against Iran are lifted.
Martin Schafersaid told a news conference on Friday that under the Geneva interim nuclear agreement, Western sanctions against Iran were partly relaxed and "we expect the two sides will reach a final agreement in this phase too," ISNA reported.
He referred to the report that German exports to Iran jumped by about 33 percent in the first eight months of this year compared to the same period last year and said, "We are in a very sensitive phase and in case of reaching an agreement in nuclear talks until November 24, we will witness more expansion of economic and trade ties with Iran."
The spokesman expressed hope that a broad-based agreement between Iran and the P5+1 (the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany) could lead to an increase in the level of trade and economic relations between the two countries.
"German companies are waiting to take advantage of that opportunity," he underlined.
