Russia's Rosatom intends to start engineering of Bushehr-2 Nuclear Power Plant in Iran by 2016 yearend after the endorsement of site parameters by the customer, a source in the Russian state-owned nuclear corporation said on Tuesday, TASS reported. "We expect the Iranian customer will determine site parameters and engineering will start before the yearend," the source said. "Iran should identify seismic parameters." The first power unit of Iran's Bushehr nuclear power plant obtained the operating license on April 20, the source said. "Receipt of this document was a mandatory condition of final turnover of the power unit to the Iranian customer," he said. It was reported earlier that work on the construction site for the new nuclear power units in Iran may start in the coming two years. Investments are estimated to total $11 billion. The new power plant will work with an efficiency of more than 40%. It will be built via Russian finance under a turnkey contract, based on which the contractor will complete the project and hand it over.
