Olive production since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2014) has dropped 30 percent, Ahmad Bolandnazar, the head of the National Oil Council told MNA on Wednesday. Almost 70,000 tons of olives were produced during this period, which shows a big slump compared to the previous year’s production of 100,000 tons in the same period. Bolandnazar called on the government and the parliament to provide more financial support for the olive oil farmers.
