The Iranian Army on Wednesday unveiled its latest achievements, including a new air defense system, an optimized version of Chieftain Tank and a multi-purpose nuclear, radiological, biological and chemical vehicle named Shahram.
In a ceremony in Tehran attended by Army Commander Lieutenant General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan, several military vehicles, devices and weapons were unveiled and delivered to the army unit, Tasnim News Agency reported.
The Chieftain Tank, a test station for TOW missile launcher, vehicles for carrying ammunitions and Bahman 57 self-propelled wheeled air defense system were among the systems and vehicles displayed in the ceremony.
The 5-ton Kian tactical vehicle, Pourya super-heavy tank-carrier, Tiam optimized tank, an optimized version of Dragunov sniper rifle and the Shahram NRBC vehicle were delivered to the force.
NRBC is a vehicle designed to carry out missions in recognition, sampling and decontamination.
The achievements were unveiled ahead of National Armed Forces Day, which will be marked across the country on April 17.
