Heading a 16-strong delegation, Andrew Wells, the head of Asia and Africa Committee of Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, arrived in Isfahan on Friday to discuss economic, commercial and cultural ties with members of the Iranian city’s Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture. “We have had cooperation in the agriculture sector before and we hope to expand our ties with Iran. HKGCC is active in the fields of textile and clothing, foodstuff, construction, tourism, electronic trade, leather, fashion, sewage systems, packaging and banking,” Wells was quoted as saying by IRNA. “With over 8,500 industrial units, Isfahan is competent in the fields of steel, chemical and petrochemical industries, construction stones, iron ore, gold and jewelry and dairy products, as well as agriculture and livestock sectors,” said Qasem Ali Jabbari, a member of the board of directors at Isfahan Chamber of Commerce, adding that there is great scope for joint cooperation in tourism and handicrafts. More than 80% of Iran’s exports to Hong Kong consist of nuts. Other goods include chicken, leather, polymers, construction stones, plastic and petrochemical products. Iran imports computer parts, telecoms equipment, watches, radios and stereos, electric circuits and devices, clothes and household appliances from
