Kazerun county, Fars Province, has received 154,259 foreign visitors to its historical monuments in the first half of the Iranian calendar year (started March 21), a number which is up by 210% compared to the same period last year, CHTN reported. “Home to 250 monuments inscribed in the National Heritage List, Kazerun is one of the most outstanding counties of Iran, showcasing various historical periods,” said Mohamad Reza Moini, county head for Iran Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHHTO). A comprehensive plan for developing tourism in the county is being drafted in which investment potential will be outlined. The plan is due to be ready in early November, the official added. Heritage sites like the Sassanid city of Bishapur, Tange Chogan complex, Shapur Cave, the statue of the 1st Shapur, Tange Jiz, kalani cypresses, Abgineh bridge relief, Bahram Gour relief, and many more have made Kazerun a tourist heartland.
