The Iranian Red Crescent Society is planning to conduct a door-to-door program to train the people in emergency response preparedness, said Dr. Mehdi Najafi, chief of IRCS education department. “The training will prepare households for precautionary action and readiness if and when natural disaster strikes, and help boost national resilience against such incidents,” he said, ISNA reported. Noting that the framework and inputs of the scheme are currently being formulated, he said the plan will, over the course of several years and in cooperation with other competent organizations, cover all Iranian families through short, practical, and simple teachings and training on how to respond to a natural emergency. It is set to be piloted in several provinces in the next Iranian year (starts March 20), and will be reviewed and revised for nation-wide implementation.
