A meeting of presidents of Persian-speaking universities will be held January 23 at Tehran’s Allameh Tabatabai University. “The meeting will be attended by university officials from Iran, Tajikistan, and Afghanistan,” said Mandana Tisheyar, director of the university’s international affairs office.
The assembly will discuss Persian as a scientific language and expound ways to improve application of the language in various scientific fields.
Nearly 21 universities from Tajikistan and Afghanistan, and nine from Iran will participate in the conference along with 12 acknowledged local and foreign figures in Farsi literature.
The conference will be held in cooperation with the Foreign Ministry, Ministry of Science and Technology, Iran’s Sa’adi Foundation, and the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization.
