To commemorate Orthodox Christmas, which falls on January 7 in Iran, a tour of Tehran will be held for Christian residents. The half-day tour is free for Christians of Armenian and Assyrian descent, Mehr News Agency reported. “The contribution of Christians, especially Armenians, to Iranian society, culture and economy is obvious to everyone,” said Rajabali Khosrowabadi, director of the provincial office of the Iran Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization. The tour will be held on January 8, which is the weekend. Those interested can contact the public relations office of the Armenian Diocese of Tehran. About 0.2% of Iranians are Christian, making them the largest religious minority in the country of 80 million people.
