French car manufacturer Renault has announced that the company exported 8,050 cars to Iran in November 2015.

According to Tasnim News Agency, a year-on-year comparison shows a tenfold increase, as the French company had imported only 780 units during the same period of last year.

The figure has also increased by 27% compared to the number of cars it had sold in Iran only a month before. In October 2015, Renault had exported 6,300 cars to Iran.

The French carmaker exported 38,080 vehicles to Iran by the end of November 2015, marking a 33% year-on-year increase. During the same period of last year, 28,780 units were imported.

The increase in Renault’s exports to Iran during 2015 comes after the number of cars the French carmaker imported to Iran was steadily declining in the past few years.

Iran’s market has been welcoming several Renault carsfrom more practical models such as Duster to those in the high-end range such as Safrane, Scala, Koleos,Fluence and Captur.

In addition to the imported models, in collaboration with Iran’s largest carmakers—Iran Khodro Company and SAIPA—Renault has been producing several bestselling models such as the L90 (Dacia-Logan) and more recently the Sandero.

In mid-December, Reza Taqavi,SAIPA’s sales and marketing manager, announced that more than 2,000 Sanderos sold out in Iran only an hour and a half after the sales offer began.
