Heavy rainfall on Sunday caused flooding in six provinces including Gilan, Ardabil, Golestan, Mazandaran, Sistan-Baluchistan and Kerman. Rescue and relief teams were sent to nine cities and 27 villages in the provinces, said Naser Charkhsaz, director of rescue operations at the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS), Alef News Agency reported. Contingency services included transferring the injured to hospitals and draining of flood waters from residences, he said, adding that “no human loss has been reported.”
