A prominent principlist says efforts to promote convergence among principlists in the upcoming elections are well underway. The parliamentary and Assembly of Experts elections are set for Feb. 26, 2016. “Unity among principlists is not impossible, and we are working closely with principlist parties and are determined to achieve convergence,” head of the Council for Principlist Convergence Hojatoleslam Seyyed Reza Taqavi told reporters on Wednesday, according to IRNA. “[Efforts to forge] convergence have reached a good stage and meetings are being held to that end.”
