Students of physics at the Science and Research Branch of Islamic Azad University have designed and built an environmental pollution monitoring device. Forouzan Faghiri, one of the designers, said the device is more sensitive and cheaper compared to foreign counterparts, ISNA reported. She added that the small device can measure air pollution, smoke levels, temperature and air pressure, and display the results as graphs on smartphone screens. Noting that this device is small and portable, Faghiri said it enables the user to measure different variables in any setting, including houses, offices or other work environments. The device can also help prevent possible hazards and accidents by issuing warnings.
