More than $6 billion worth of goods and services were exported from Tehran Province during the first four months of the current Iranian year (started March 21), said the head of Tehran’s Industries, Mining and Trade Organization, Mohammad Reza Mesforoush. The province registered $2.6 billion worth of commodity exports during the period, while export of services stood at $3.4 billion, IRNA quoted the official as saying on Monday. “Tehran accounts for the lion’s share of Iran’s total exports,” he noted, referring to the 60% share of the province in the country’s carpet and handicraft exports. Tehran is one of the 31 provinces of Iran and is home to the capital city of the same name.
