Rumor has it that Isfahan hotels are crammed with tourists, mostly foreigners, to such an extent that some are left high and dry, luggage-in- hand at the hotel door.
This allegation has been in part denied by Mehdi Narimani, head of Isfahan Hotel Owners Association, on Saturday, who asserted “The situation only pertained to one hotel, the Abbasi Hotel, which is the legendary hotel of Iran, with many traveling with the fantasy of seeing it once,” ISNA reported.
Isfahan hotels are experiencing 80-90% of occupancy these days, Narimani added.
In addition, Isfahan has recently hosted two events: the International Intangible Cultural Heritage Festival, and the International Children Film Festival, which has obviously aggravated matters brought about by the recent tourist boom in the city.
