To help boost trade, economic and industrial cooperation, a special taskforce will be formed between Iran and Japan. The decision was made in a meeting between Iran’s deputy minister of industries, mining and trade, Valiollah Afkhamirad and director general of Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry policymaking office, Hirofumi Katase in Tehran, IRNA reported. The private sectors of the two countries can cooperate in different areas such as infrastructure, consultancy and economic policymaking, said the Japanese side adding that: “We hope to see the first meeting of the joint taskforce soon since we believe it’ll help us take the initial steps toward expansion of ties before the complete removal of sanctions.” Tehran is willing to advance partnership with Tokyo in different sectors including, but not limited to, oil and gas, urban rail transit, automotive, shipping, nanotechnology, steel and tourism, Afkhamirad said.
