Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati was reelected as chairman of the Guardian Council in the election of the presiding board of the council on Wednesday, IRNA reported. Mohammad Reza Alizadeh and Nejatollah Ebrahimian were also reelected as deputy chairman and spokesperson respectively. The council is tasked with interpreting the Constitution, overseeing elections and vetting candidates for elections.
