Around 48.5% of the jobholders in Yazd Province are employed in the industry sector and the central province’s unemployment rate stands at 7.8%, according to last Iranian year’s (ended March 20) national labor census. Alborz and Chaharmahal- Bakhtiari provinces came in second and third with 45.8% and 43.8% industrial employment respectively. In terms of employment in the agriculture sector, North Khorasan Province has the highest number of jobholders by 37.7%, followed by West Azarbaijan (32.8%) and Ardabil (32.7%), Donya-e-Eqtesad reported. The data shows that 61.8% of the employees in Tehran work in the services’ sector thanks to the concentration of public and private firms. Bushehr and Qom come next with 58.3% and 54.2% respectively.
