Austrian President Heinz Fischer is scheduled to visit Iran on September 7-9. According to Mehr News Agency the visit is aimed at promoting trade and sustainable economic ties between Tehran and Vienna. “We are ready to expand our two-way relations with Iran. To that end, a delegation of political, economic and scientific teams will accompany me on my Iran tour in September,” President Fischer has been quoted as saying. In a meeting held between President Fischer and the Iranian Minister of Industries, Mining and Trade in Vienna following Iran-EU Economic Conference, Mohammadreza Nematzadeh said: “Removal of obstacles in the way of bilateral cooperation got off to a good start thanks to the conference.” Sustainable bilateral cooperation tops the priorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Nematzadeh added. The conference was aimed at providing Iranian businesses, investors and entrepreneurs with a chance to gain insights, explore opportunities and network with foreign counterparts, policymakers and stakeholders. It was sponsored by the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber and Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization and joint chambers of commerce of Iran, France, Germany and Britain and held on July 23,24.
