Direct flights between Tabriz, East Azarbaijan Province and Izmir in Turkey are now available. Chief Executive officer of Airports Holding Company in East Azarbaijan Province, Mostafa Safaei, told the press that Turkish Airlines has launched the flight route, IRNA reported. The flights are scheduled to leave Tabriz every Saturday at 5:45 a.m. with the Airbus A-320 aircraft. Tabriz is a hub for flights from Turkey, Iraq and the UAE, and connects to Tehran, Mashhad, Isfahan, Ahvaz, Shiraz, Bandar-Abbas, Asalouyeh, Kish and Kerman in Iran. Most outbound Iranian tourists visited Turkey last year, highlighting the importance of Iranian travelers to Turkish tourism. Russians and Iranians make up the bulk of tourist arrivals in Turkey.
