Tehran International Permanent Fairground will play host to the 23rd Tehran International Tile, Ceramic and Sanitaryware Exhibition ‘Cerafair 2015’.

The event, which will run from 20-23 July, is a platform for 200 Iranian as well as 50 international companies from Italy, Spain, China, the Czech Republic, Germany, Holland, Bulgaria and South Korea to put on display their latest products, IRNA reported.

According to the report, the number of foreign companies that have signed up for Cerafair 2015 has risen by 15% compared to last year.

The exhibition will feature eight specialized workshops by university professors and experts of the field and forums by a number of economic and trade delegations from the Middle East.

Locating new export markets, introduction of Iran’s potential, identifying barriers hobbling its growth and paving the way for healthy competition among local producers are among the key goals of the event.

 4th Largest Producer & Exporter

According to the Iranian Ceramic Producers Syndicate, Iran is the fourth largest producer and exporter of ceramics in the world. Yearly exports of 115 million square meters of tiles and ceramics earn $460 million in foreign currency and Iraq accounts for about 80% of the export market.

This comes as tile and ceramic production in the first two months of the current Iranian year (started March 21) fell 38.1% compared to the same period last year standing at 39 million square meters.

The 2025 Outlook Plan has envisioned production of 700 million square meters of tiles and ceramics over 10 years.
