The government has allocated as much as 600 billion rials (more than $20 million at official exchange rate) for the preservation of natural resources in the current Iranian year (started March 21), announced the head of Land Affairs Organization of Iran.  Qobad Afshar, who was addressing a meeting on unlicensed constructions in Alborz Province, noted that preservation of natural resources is a major concern for the citizens and officials alike. As IRNA reported, Alborz is losing two thirds of its land, while 30,000 of its construction projects are undocumented. Calling for more restrictive rules, the official added that lack of order in future constructions will undermine investments in Alborz Province.
