The chairman of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission said Israel and Saudi Arabia are attempting to sink a prospective nuclear deal between Iran and the major powers by pressurizing some parties to negotiations to make excessive demands.
“US excessive demands (in nuclear talks) are the result of the lobbying by the Zionist regime and Saudi Arabia,” Alaeddin Boroujerdi told ISNA on Friday. “They have been playing a destructive role to block the deal since the beginning (of the diplomatic effort).”
“Thus, as we insist on safeguarding our (nuclear) achievements and principles, it is natural that (the talks) have become protracted,” he said, noting that the accord could have been concluded long ago had the western side acted based on the framework agreement reached in early April. “The negotiators are expected to stand firmly (against such demands) and defend the nation’s rights.”
