Member of board at Iran’s Airports Company affiliated to the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development says Iran has purchased autoland and GPS aircraft tracking systems from an unnamed European country, adding that the equipment will be delivered by September, IRNA reported on Saturday. According to Ahmad Momenirokh, airports in the northern cities of Gorgan and Sari in Golestan and Mazandaran provinces respectively as well as Yazd Airport in the central Yazd Province will be equipped with the new systems. The ministry also plans to make a $200-million purchase, including navigation aid, cockpit automation systems and radars for Tehran’s Mehrabad Airport by March, he added.
