Environmental NGOs wrote an open letter to the head of the Department of Environment, Masumeh Ebtekar, appealing her to her to put an end to the mass extermination of migrating birds in Fereydunkenar, Mazandaran Province, as cited on the Animal Rights Watch website. The letter points to the threat to the migrating birds by poachers.
