Ninety percent of ‘closed’ spinal surgeries are performed successfully in the country and at lower costs compared to overseas, said head of Iranian Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine (ISRAPM).
Performing ‘closed’ orthopedic surgeries started in 2005 in Iran, IRNA reported.
‘Opened’ surgeries have a lower rate of success, and are costly. Their side effects are also considerably higher than ‘closed’ surgeries.
