Iran Aircraft Manufacturing Industrial Company (HESA) says it is domestically manufacturing a new civil aircraft with the capacity of 70 passengers, Mehr news agency reported. “Airplane production generally requires multilateral cooperation between various companies; however despite the presence of western sanctions on Iran’s aviation industry [over the country’s nuclear energy program], HESA has embarked on the designing and manufacturing the new airplane,” said the company’s CEO, Mohammad Sirati.
