Iran Mine House (IMH) has decided to form a special committee for mineral laboratories aimed at providing services to the private sector, Eghtesadnews cited deputy chairman of the IMH Mohammad-Reza Bahraman as saying.
"Based on a proposal by the private sector mining activists, the committee will be formed in the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21) with the aim of boosting mining activities and expanding research on mineral processing ", Bahraman said.
According to Bahraman, the committee could boost interaction between the private sector and the government in mining research areas. "The committee will help introduce modern technologies into the processing sector of the mining industry", he added.
The IMH deputy chairman also said the global decline in prices of raw minerals have negatively affected the country's mining sector. He emphasized that considering the development of exploration operations in the country, the committee is expected to help the private sector companies establish their own laboratories.
The laboratories in the mining sector have so far conducted valuable studies on gold ore, the results of which can be used by privatized mining companies, Bahraman noted.
