The deputy foreign minister for European and American affairs expressed the Islamic Republic's readiness to promote political and economic relations with Latin American countries, IRNA reported.

"The recent developments in the international arena as well as the significant economic capacities in the (Latin American) region have provided considerable opportunities for cooperation," said Majid Takht-Ravanchi in a meeting with ambassadors of some Latin American countries in Tehran on Monday.

The senior diplomat, who is also a member of the nuclear negotiating team, echoed Iran's demand for the annulment of all sanctions at once, saying that now the Iranian society is alert to the developments in the negotiations, "with people carefully watching the course of talks."

Ambassadors of Brazil, Mexico, Venezuela, Cuba, Uruguay, Bolivia, Ecuador, Argentina and Nicaragua described the latest round of Iran's talks with the six major powers known as the P5+1 (the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany) in Lausanne as "successful".

"By entering into talks with world powers, Tehran managed to prove that negotiation and diplomacy are the best solutions to solve problems," they noted.
