In a message issued on Saturday, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Marzieh Afkham extended congratulations to Muhammadu Buhari, winner of the recent presidential election in Nigeria, on his victory and the peaceful conduct of the presidential election in the West African country, according to a foreign ministry press release. "The fact that the election was held smoothly and presidential candidates respected its result indicates that politicians and political groups have a good and praiseworthy understanding of the importance of the situation and the priorities of this great country," Afkham said.
