More than a million tons of various commodities from 50 local suppliers were offered at the spot market on Sunday trading to register a record high at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) within the current year, which ends March 20.
According to IME public relations office, 425,000 tons of I-beams, priced at 14,500 rials as well as 52,640 tons of mixed rebar bundles were offered by Esfahan Steel Company on the industrial and mining trading floor.
Khuzestan Steel Company offered 100,000 tons of bloom, with the base price of 13,250 rials per kg, and 150,000 tons of slab-C, with the base price of 14,500 rials.
Furthermore, 2,000 tons of aluminum alloys, 400 tons of billet, and 200 tons of coke were offered on the same floor. The oil and petrochemical trading floor played host to 58,000 tons of commodities supplied by local petrochemical complexes. In addition, 35,000 tons of vacuum bottoms, 46,000 tons of various grades of bitumen, 14,000 tons of lube-cut oil, and 1,200 tons of sulfur were supplied on the floor.
Elsewhere, the export trading floor recorded the offering of 106,300 tons of various grades of bitumen to potential customers overseas. The agricultural trading floor played host to 32,785 tons of corn, and 3,000 tons of rice.
