Foreign ministry spokesperson Marzieh Afkham announced on Wednesday that Qatar has released six Iranian prisoners, who had been sentenced to death or long prison terms on drug-related convictions, ISNA reported. "The move came as a result of efforts by the foreign ministry and follow-ups by the Iranian Embassy in Qatar, and after the recent visit of the Qatari attorney general (Ali bin Fetais al-Marri) to Iran and his interaction with the judiciary," Afkham said.
